OSA PENINSULA

The Osa Peninsula is where we finished our trip in Costa Rica. The southwest corner of the country is home to miles and miles of beautiful jungle and wilderness. It includes Corcovado National Park, many beaches, and a ton of wildlife. We spent two days exploring the peninsula. Our first day consisted of visiting Matapalo beach, getting lost in the Piro jungle, and hiking to a waterfall. On our second day, we hired a guide and explored Corcovado National Park. Check out the video of our first day on the Osa Peninsula here and Day 2 in Corcovado here!

RED ROCK CANYON

Red Rock Canyon is a great hike for the entire family. There is a popular trail around the perimeter of the canyon that is well maintained, has little elevation gain, and gives spectacular views of the colorful rock. On a hot day the creek in the canyon is a popular place for kids to cool off and play in the water. If you are looking for a slightly more adventurous hike you can venture up the canyon through the creek. A quick 1km side trip from the south point of the canyon trail takes you to the scenic Blakiston Falls Lookout Point. Check out the video of our adventure hiking Red Rock Canyon here!

RESERVOIR CANYON TRAIL

Reservoir Canyon Trail is a great half day hike for anyone in the San Luis Obispo area.  The hike takes roughly three hours to complete and begins just outside of the city. From the top, you will be rewarded with incredible views of SLO, the hilly landscape that surrounds it, and the coastline. Check out the video of our Reservoir Canyon Trail Adventure here!

RIBBON LAKE

Hiking to Ribbon Lake and Ribbon Falls is a moderately difficult trek in the backcountry of Kananaskis. The hike follows Ribbon Creek Trail (an old logging road from the 1940s) and is surrounded by mountains and beautiful forest. Ribbon Falls is enormous and a great location for beautiful photos. Passed the falls another 2km is Ribbon Lake. That final 2km stretch includes steep elevation, exposure, and climbing up chains tacked into the mountain side. Once you get to the top you get an incredible view looking back into the valley you just conquered. Check out the video of our adventure at Ribbon Lake here!

SEARCHING FOR NARNIA

Note: Despite our enthusiasm in the video it turns out we didn’t actually find Narnia. Guess we will have to plan a return trip to the Big Island to find the true location of Narnia. This guide will give you the details of our hike and where we went in our failed attempt.

Hawaii is well known for many things, one of those being beautiful waterfalls. On our search for Narnia we stumbled across a swimming hole with spectacular waterfalls. It was somewhat off the beaten path and consisted of four 30ft high narrow waterfalls that all pour into the same pool. Even though it wasn’t Narnia, it was a relatively easy hike and would be worth checking out. Check out the video of our search for Narnia here!

SNORKELING WITH THE MANTAS

Swimming with manta rays is a once in a lifetime experience that can be had right offshore on the Big Island of Hawaii. Diving with manta rays can also be experienced in other parts of the world, but Hawaii is one of the best! Check out the video of our adventure swimming with the Mantas here!

TENT RIDGE

Tent Ridge is one of our favorite hikes in the Kananaskis area! It’s an 11km loop trail that is both challenging for beginner hikers and difficult enough for those with more experience. This hike has it all, from ridge walks and forest trails to scrambling up rocks and sliding down snow. Check out the video of our Tent Ridge Adventure here!

THE BLUE HOLE

Most people that experience the Blue Hole don’t actually step foot in it, but view it from the window of a helicopter. The Blue Hole is surrounded by miles of thick rainforest, mountains, and rivers, which makes it one of the most remote places on Kauai. It is also one of the most difficult places to reach by foot. Our guide contains essential driving information, photos, a detailed map, and step-by-step instructions to The Blue Hole. Check out the video of our adventure hiking to The Blue Hole here!

THE CALGARY ROPE SWING

The rope swing west of Calgary is an awesome place to spend a day. Just 25 minutes from downtown is a swimming hole plenty deep to swing or jump into. There is a platform roughly 30ft high and a long rope connected to a tree that you can swing off into the water. Lots of people will take floaty rafts and hang around in the calm refreshing Bow River water.
